I read something today that hit me like a ton of bricks.
Have you ever had that happen to you? You are going about your day, minding your own business, running errands, attending meetings and classes, eating your breakfast, lunch, dinner, (or maybe your snack between lunch and dinner) and out of nowhere… BAAMM …you see something that has an instant affect on your thoughts.
It happens quick. A revelation.
An e.piph.a.ny: a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience
In an instant you are taken out of you reality (even if for nothing but 10 seconds) as you grasp what you just encountered. Whether it be a quote, a picture, a verse, or a simple action, this moment comes bringing a new found clarity on some aspect, or some part of your life.
For me, it happened while at school, in my Intro to Teaching class! This specific class since the very first day, has proven to be a very “thought inducting” hour and a half. Money well spent.
On this specific class, the professor had a few questions on the board. Intriguing questions. The type of questions that makes you think. As I quickly scanned them, simultaneously trying to think of what the potential assigment might involve, my eyes went down to number 6.
“When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?”
BAAMMMM!!!!
Instant mind rollercoaster.
Actions will always speak louder than words. The second I read that question, my mind went back to countles promises…sadly, empty promises, made to friends, family members , God…and even myself!
Promises of becoming a stronger person and of accomplishing more, of becoming a better daughter or of increasing devotional time, of learning how to surf or test driving a Ferrari. HAHA You name it & I can assure you its been in my wonderful bucket list. (Which grows exponentially every day if I might add.) It may sound silly, but as of now all those dreams, all those promises have simply been words. Now don’t get me wrong, there is no bad sides to the “speaking” aspect of it, as long as the “action” part of it follows.
I’m going to take it a day at a time, but I want to do more than I have said, not said more than I have done.
“Be quick to listen and slow to speak.” James 1:19
At the end of the day, if all I’ve done was speak….did I actually do anything at all?
Think about it.
—-Today, choose to DO something you SAID you would do. Make it happen. There is nobody stopping you other than yourself.—-
BAAAMMM! :)

“You knit me together in my mother’s womb.” -Psalm 139:13
I read this verse, and started pondering on the significance and truth that stands behind such simple words.
When writing this, the psalmist could have easily placed the word “created” or “manufactured” or “fabricated”.
….You knit me together ….
There is something so personal and real about the relationship we have with our CREATOR. From the very beginning, its been intimate.
Imagine Him… sitting in His decked out throne room, with angels worshiping Him at every side, praising Him, thanking Him…simply because He is God….He had it all. YET STILL, something wasn’t complete; He wanted to make something & He wanted it to be really good.
OH… AND REALLY GOOD IT WAS!
When God KNIT my quirky little self together, He said “…and it is REALLY good.” Inspite of the circumstances that are around me, the trials I’m facing , the way others view me, the way I view myself, inspite of it all…He invested His time, His efforts, and most importantly His love, in putting together something that was really good.
He created me with a purpose. He created YOU with a purpose. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you….” He has a plan.
So why do we allow the enemy to feed us these constant lies of ”I’m nothing” or ”My life is going nowhere” “Nobody understands” “Nobody cares” . Here is what I have learned.. You are blessed and highly favored. (Luke 1:28) You are a child of God. (John 1:12) You can do all things through Him who gives you strength. (Phillipians 4:13).
It truly hit me today… God would have created the entire world even if it was just for me. He would have sent Jesus to die a painful death on the cross, even if it was just me.
& EVEN IF IT WAS JUST YOU!
